Buddha Maitreya Empowerment

The Power of Loving Kindness

Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Maitreya

Saturday, March 28 – Sunday, March 29

Cost: $60 ($50 before March 20th)

Everyone is welcome to this very special event. On Saturday, Gen Khyenwang will grant the blessing empowerment of Maitreya, Buddha of Loving Kindness, and give commentary to this practice. On Sunday, she will guide us through the practice in two sessions, in order to deepen our own experience of love, compassion and wisdom and put these teaching into practice in daily life.

*Families are welcome. There will be a teacher in the kids’ room during the empowerment. Children four and under need to have their parent remain with them. Older children that are able to remain quietly in the meditation room may stay with their parents during the empowerment.

WHO IS MAITREYA?

Maitreya is the manifestation of all the Buddhas’ realization of loving kindness. His function is to guide us along the stages of the path to enlightenment. Through relying on Buddha Maitreya with faith we will receive Buddha’s special care, and he will bestow upon us the realizations of Kadam Lamrim through which we can solve our own and others’ problems, and fulfil our own and others’ wishes. In this way, we can bring so much benefit to our family, our community and our world.

WHAT IS AN EMPOWERMENT?

An empowerment is a guided tantric meditation where we make a special connection with that particular Buddha and their good qualities. It is essentially a guided meditation that harnesses wisdom, imagination and the power of enlightened beings to bestow special blessings that heal our mental continuum and awaken our Buddha nature.
