Mala Making Workshop

Everyone is welcome to this introduction to mala making and learning how to use a Buddhist mala (or prayer beads) in conjunction with mantra recitation to improve your peace of mind, compassion and wisdom. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon exploring this traditional art by making your own mala to take home with you, or add your creation to the collection for sale in the gift shop.

A mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. This is a simple practice that easily connects us with the good qualities of all enlightened beings, and helps us to realize our highest potential. For Buddhist practitioners, their mala is a very precious and meaningful object.
This workshop is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner. Work at your own pace and receive guidance from experienced assistants while enhancing your knowledge of the various types of malas and how to make them in a qualified manner according to the New Kadampa lineage.
