Dakini Yoga

Dakini Yoga is the middling self-generation practice of Vajrayogini, the manifestation of Buddha’s mind of clear light, and one of the principal practices of Highest Yoga Tantra in the New Kadampa Tradition. In this practice, we chant in English, make offerings, purify negative, and mediate on ourselves as the deity.

This practice is open to those who have received Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments of Heruka and Vajrayogini. If you have not received these empowerments, but intend to as soon as possible (currently the next opportunity is at the 2024 International Kadampa Fall Festival), contact our EPC or Resident Teacher to discuss your attendance.

There is no cost to attend chanted prayers. Check the calendar for exact times.

From tharpa.com:

Vajrayogini is a female enlightened Deity of Highest Yoga Tantra who is the manifestation of the wisdom of all Buddhas. This extensive self-generation practice of Vajrayogini is a translation of the sadhana—ritual prayers for spiritual attainments—composed by Je Phabongkhapa. The particular lineage of this practice, the Narokhacho lineage, was passed directly from Vajrayogini to Naropa, and from him through an unbroken lineage of realized practitioners to the present day. By relying on this practice sincerely, with a good heart and a mind of faith, it is definitely possible to attain full enlightenment; but to accomplish such results we must practice this sadhana regularly. To practice the sadhana successfully we should first receive the empowerment of Vajrayogini, and then study authentic instructions on the practice such as those found in the commentary New Guide to Dakini Land. This sadhana is suitable both for our regular daily practice and for retreat; and we can practice it alone or in a group.
